33 Tangents - Episode #113 - Being Human at Work, Part 2
Friday Jun 26, 2020
Friday Jun 26, 2020
A couple of weeks ago, Jim and Jason tackled the concept of being human at work. The conversation focused around the idea of having a “corporate version” of yourself that removes any personal details.
On this week’s episode of 33 Tangents, Jenn joins Jason and Jim to continue the conversation and talk about being human at work from the perspective of not being machines. This year has been stressful and draining on everyone for multiple different reasons. We’re not machines meant to stamp out widgets. How do we deal with this? How do we support others? How do we express this to our management?

Friday Jun 19, 2020
Recently Jason contributed to a Forbes article by Brent Dykes that discusses the need for businesses to focus on data, especially now.
What are we seeing businesses doing in the face of adversity? What is driving this reaction? How can you help message the need to focus on data to the rest of the org?

33 Tangents - Episode #110 - Being Human at Work
Friday Jun 05, 2020
Friday Jun 05, 2020
We’ve been conditioned that we need to have a corporate image while at work. Personal items remain at home and are not intermingled with work. Personal causes and beliefs should be suppressed and not shared.
The last couple of months have been trying on multiple fronts. People are scared, stressed out, and struggling to manage at times. The Covid-19 pandemic has required corporate office workers to work from home and home school children at the same time, resulting in the sounds of family in the background of conference calls. The recent murder of George Floyd and resulting protests and demonstrations have stirred a wide range of emotions in so many. People have inspired to break down the stoic corporate image and share their personal feelings and stories.
Why have we been told we need to have our “corporate image” that is devoid of personal notes? How can you be human at work and share what is going on personally? What happens to a team when everyone starts shedding their corporate facade?
THANK YOU
